Question: Is the one who is delighted at the fall of some of those responsible for spreading corruption in the earth, [1] even though the one who seizes them is from the disbelievers, is this considered to be [a form of] showing allegiance to the disbelievers?
Answer: It is not permissible to sympathize with those who spread corruption in the earth. If the disbelievers seize them, then we know that this is their punishment from Allāh; that Allāh empowered the disbelievers over them as their punishment.
We do not sympathize with those who spread corruption in the earth. This is not deemed to be allegiance to the disbelievers.
Rather, it is said that this is a punishment from Allāh for these proponents of corruption. Allāh empowered over them those that are stronger than them.
“And thus will We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn.” [al-An’aam :129]
